WASHINGTONIA (family: PALMAE)
This kind of palms is entitled to George Washington from Wendland. A tall, solitary fan palm to about 16m with persistant leaf bases. The leaves are grey-green, with cotton like threads on the leaves, and dark drown, heavily armed, shiny leaf bases.
