CYCAS (family: CYCADACEAE)

Even not being a palm, its name, of Greek origins, refers exactly to a palm. The Cycas can reach 20 meters height and his trunk looks swollen on the base. This one, cylindrical, is surmounted by a wisp of wide big evergreen leaves. This species, furthermore, is dioecious: male flowers product pollen, while female ones hold eggs.
